VOTE FOR LOUIS SGRO, TOWN COUNCIL!!

ALOHA!
Many of you already know that I am originally from Philadelphia. My parents are still on the east coast living in Delaware. They both retired a few years ago and moved closer to the beach. And they love it.
A little background, my Dad was a police officer for over 40 years in Philadelphia and my mom was working for a local State Representive. When they retired they were excited to do nothing but relax, go to the beach, enjoy the new house and be retired, I meant hey worked so hard for all those years that they deserve to enjoy life now.
But Recent developments brought my dad running for town council in Delaware. And here is my mom helping him. She has so much experience doing this that I think its a great match for both of them. I think they make a great team!
My dad wants to make the town a better place, right just like all people running for any office. But my dad has a lot of experience and compassion working with and for people. He has worked many years helping abuse against elderly people. You know the people that like to scam older people of their money...sad, but my dad made a such an impact on that community that when he retired people wondered what would happen to the department and these elderly people. You know my dad did not want to even retire.
I knew it would not be long before he was doing something to make a difference in people's lives and helping again. And here it is he is running for town council. I am so proud of him and wish I could be there for all the exciting events that will happen. But I can not get back there for this time. However, I can send some Sunshine to him. My mom and dad have a few meet and greet events in the next couple of days so I decided to send cookies. They could give them out as favors and I could send my support to him.
I wish my dad all the best of luck. I know he will impress everyone with his years of experience, his compassion and his overall love for helping people. He truly is a great man!
All the cookies were bagged and tied with red, white and blue ribbon and shipped off to them.

THE GARBAGE CAN CAKE!!

Aloha!

We ended 2009 with a special and unique cake. Kim contacted us for a cake for her boyfriend whose birthday is December 31...New Years Eve. She wanted something big, grand and special for Jeff because his birthday. Sometimes when birthdays fall on a big day like this they tend to be pushed to the side and Kim wanted to make sure he knew that it was HIS birthday. When she called she said she wanted the "garbage can" cake. Meaning she wanted all the things that were important to him on one cake. A little work and a little hobbies.

We hand painted all the logos on this cake. For his work we made the restaurants he is in charge of and then we made logos from his fave sports teams. Since the Cowboys are his favorite, we made the top tier all for him. With the cowboys stars, footballs and helmets.

Kim wanted all of her guests to take home something from this birthday party so each guest received 3 cookies, one NY Yankees, one Cowboys and one Saints cookie.

We hope Jeff had a wonderful Surprise party and a great birthday!

EMILiO PUCCI DESIGNED CAKE

Aloha!

A few months back I was contacted by Pacific Weddings Magazine. They wanted to feature a cake made by us with a special theme in mind. This new issue, which is on stands now, is a fashion theme issue. Something Robyn is very excited about. She had a few different designers she was using and wanted to meet me to see what was a good fit for my style.

After meeting and talking she choose Emilio Pucci, an Italian designer. To be honest I was not sure who he was and was glad she sent me his bio and some images of his work. As soon as I saw his work I knew exactly who is was. In fact I went and looked and I have a bag from him. I immediately contacted her to tell her how perfect of a fit Emilio Pucci was for me. I was so excited to create a cake based on his designs. He has very funky, bright and colorful, mod style. Perfect for me! I love 60's style.

She sent me a few images and after looking carefully through them I finally choose one that I liked. I liked all of them and I had a lot of different ideas and designs, but I was so excited when this one popped out at me.
I made a 4 tier square cake for the modern look that brides are choosing. I separated each tier. I hand cut each paisley design from a custom stencil made from the design on the handbag.

I had fun working with Robyn on this project. And it was nice to work with Dave Miyamoto, who brought my cake to life through his photos.

CANDYLAND MADNESS!

Aloha!

We always get a lot of requests for Candyland cakes, especially around the holidays. This is our recent Candyland cake. Made for a special 1st birthday. This time instead of making a tierd cake, our client wanted a sheet cake but enough to feed all of her guests. Needless to say it had to be a big cake! This was so big it took 3 people to carry it. The cake replicated the game board but we made it 3D instead of all flat.
The flavor was Strawberry Shortcake.

We also supplied 150 gingerbread men favors in our gingerbread cookies dough!
