OUR STAR TREK CAKE GOT HONORABLE MENTION

ALOHA,
Its been a long time since I blogged. I am sorry to all of you who follow. We have been super busy and it seems like everyday gets busier and busier. Which is wonderful. I am so thankful. Thank you for keeping us going. We love making cakes!

We had honorable mention on Cakecentral.co. for our Star Trek we made not to long ago. Our friend Cely called to get a birthday cake for her new husband Trevor. You may remember them from the pirate wedding cake we made for them. Cely and Trevor have contacted us countless times for cakes since then. And this was one of them. Trevor loves Star Trek so how perfect we make him the U.S.S. Reliant. One thing Cely asked for was lights in the cake!! Oh yeah, we all know how I love to make a cake light up. This cake had 3 lights in it.

So this cake was entered in the Star Trek cake contest. There were some awesome cakes entered and for us to honorable mention means a lot to me. Thank you for all of you who voted for us.
Keep looking back we had some awesome cakes over the past 2 weeks that we will post this week. Along with some awesome events we will be attending and some great new going on overhere for us!

Mama Mia Wedding Fair was a success

ALOHA!

I wanted to thank everyone for supporting us this past Saturday for the Mama Mia Wedding Fair at Kahala Mall. Hawaii Bride and Groom asked us if we wanted to be a part of this event and we jumped at the chance. With our very busy weekend I noticed all of our events were in the evening and we would be able to attend since it was from 10 - 2. Friday night was a very long busy night. But we got everything finished. I was extremely happy with our display cakes and all of our samples.

We were asked to supply 100 samples but I knew that it was a mall, this was a big event so we made almost 700. I really thought that was going to be to much. Boy was I wrong. The announced that we were having samples starting at 11. We were out in 45 minutes. I was surprised. We supplied 4 of our most popular flavors, strawberry guava, pineapple coconut, chocolate Guinness, and green tea. Everyone loved them.

I also have always wanted to make an upside down cake so I did. And it was awesome. We always see a lot of Topsy Turvy cakes but never upside down. People took to it well and loved the idea.

Thank you again to all of you who came to stop by our table and support us. Thank you to Julie from Hawaii Bride and Groom for inviting us and Kahala mall for hosting the event. We look forward to working with you both again.

THE EVER SO POPULAR P3 PLANE

Aloha!

We were contacted again to make a P3 plane for a Change of Command for VPU-2. We had made the CO's daughter a birthday cake a few months back and he loved it and wanted a cake for his going away. He had a beautiful decorated sheet cake. Not your average cake....and a P3 that looked like it was flying in the clouds. I love making these planes. As many as I have done and I have 3 more booked, I never get tired of making them. Living on a base that has plenty of P3 planes I love going to pick Nick up at work and driving by the the flight line. Sometimes they are all lined up, some take off and some land. They are so loud and grand. I just love to watch them. So being able to take 2 things I really enjoy makes my life good!

Of course we had to light this plane up. We placed red and green LED light on the wings!

CUPCAKES CUPCAKES...THEY ARE THAT SPECIAL

We have seen a big surge of requests for cupcakes. All kinds, weddings, birthdays, graduations etc... Even cupcakes as favors have become very popular. We even made our own cupcake menu because the cupcake is that special and deserves its own menu. But our cupcakes are not ordinary. We fill our cupcakes with a variety of options. Because just like cake you should a complete cake or cupcake experience. We also think cupcakes need decorations just like cake. So we are offering cupcake liners. We have all different kinds of liners from beach theme to elegant lace and all the colors you can think of.

HEINEKEN CAKE AND COOKIES

ALOHA!!

I met Lisa last year when she called me to make her wedding cake for her. I instantly was very fond of her. She is laid back and fun. We met for a tasting and we talked for almost 2 hours. Its was nice to get to know her. I made her winter wonderland wedding cake and cookies for her. She has since contacted me a few times for cakes but we have always dropped emails checking in on each other and how life has been going. Its nice to keep in touch with her. So many time I do not hear from my couples. You get to know people so well and then after the wedding we go about our life.

So, this time Lisa called me for a birthday cake for her new husband George. She told me he loves Heineken beer and could I make a bottle cake for him. And then we also decided to make some bottle cookies as well. Which is a first for the cookies. And the came out really good.

When we showed up they loved everything. Lisa told me that they did not cut the bottle. Even today it still is not cut. I get that a lot of from my clients, that they do not want to cut the cakes. its cute but you have to cut them. Its OK. its cake and it will go bad. We can always make you another one!!
