WILD AND CRAZY PURSE

ALOHA!
Continuing on our journey through the cakes we had last week we want to feature a cake made for a special little girl who turned 9. We made a hot pink, lime and zebra print bag with matching shoes and make up. I love the way these colors are together. When our client came to pick up the cake she showed up a pinata she bought and it was perfect. A matching shoe with zebra print, lime and hot pink colors.

We hope the cake was a big hit!

Until tomorrow, Have a great day!

THE HOTTEST SWEET 16 AROUND

Aloha!
Last week was a busy week for us. We had so many events we will share with you this week but for our first one we Made a Topsy Turvy Sweet 16 cake for a very lucky girl.
I worked closely with Sophie and Robin over at Current Affairs. They informed me that their client, Beth and Duane aka "Dog the Bounty Hunter" wanted a special cake for her daughter Cecily. She noticed I had another candy land cake on our website but wanted to change the colors to Hot pink, Silver and Black. All great colors together.
I was excited to make this cake again. I always love this style of cake and the candy land theme is so popular right now. All the candy we made is hand crafted. Beth picked some great flavors, Strawberry, Lemon and Coconut. We also supplied a cheesecake on the side for them.
When we walked into The Monarch Ballroom at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel I was pleasantly surprised by the colors. It was awesome. The Chairs were covered in the hottest pink covers i have ever seen. They were tied with black sashes. The tables were covered with a different color pink linen. There was a yummy candy buffet set up and they even had a chocolate fountain. I think Beth's other daughter was more amazed at that chocolate fountain then the cake, which is totally understandable, that fountain was big!
As we were setting up the cake and making sure all the pieces were in place, Beth came to check out the cake. It was a pleasure to meet her. (I am a fan of the show and watch it when I have time to relax) She is very nice and sweet and loved her cake. She also had this beautiful black dress with hot pink stitched flowers down the front front on. The whole family matched the party colors!
Happy 16th Birthday Cecily! We hope is was a sweet one.

Aloha!

That's right, Its Lychee time again! For the 3rd year I am adding Lychee cake to the menu. I just found some beautiful, juicy Lychees the other day. I am so excited. I always love the first lychee of the season. Its like when I was a kid growing up on the east coast I always got so excited to go to the beach for the first time after a long cold winter. This is how getting that first Lychee is.
So if you like Lychees try our Lychee cake. Its so ONO!! We make it a special way that I can guarantee no one else make it like us.

MADDY'S VERY SPECIAL 1st BIRTHDAY

Aloha! Happy Wednesday Everyone,

I have more pictures sent into us from a client I met a few weeks ago. She wanted me to help plan her daughter's first birthday party being help at the Waialae Country Club. We met for a tasting where she tries lots of different flavors for her cupcakes that were used for centerpieces at each table. She also tried some flavors for this cute teapot cake and also cookies for a cookie decorating party.

I had fun at this tasting talking about all the different options. I knew this party was going to be fun. The invitations were made to look like a tea bag in brown, different shades of pink and ivory. It was a super cute idea.

So we decided to go with 4 different flavors of cupcakes all matching int he color theme. The cupcakes had polka dots on top and were placed on cute cupcakes stands with matching balloons tied to it.

The cake was a large tea pot sitting on another cake. Again using the same colors and polka dot theme.

We choose 4 different shapes of cookies within the tea pot theme...tea pots, tea cups, Topsy Turvy cake and a mad hatter hat. From the looks of the pictures the kids had fun decorating the cookies.

One thing I noticed at this event was another activity vendor. I have never seen this before and thought it was a great idea. Hat making. This company is called HAPPENIN HATS. Michelle set up a table with bins of all kinds of flowers and things to glue onto these really cool hats. This is a creative, fun and interactive activity that is different from the rest. Check them out online or call Michelle at 808.375.3674 for more information.

I want to thank Marie for sending me over these pictures.

I also want to share the awesome email Marie sent to me.
Hi Vicki,
I'm so sorry not to email you sooner. Please do not let me silence be any representation of how we feel about your cake, cupcakes and cookies, because they were completely awesome! We got tremendous feedback about how cute(and delicious!) the cupcakes were and how utterly amazing the cake was. I completely agree. Del and I ate the cake with some family the next day (and stashed some away so that we could enjoy later by ourselves). The cake was even better than we expected (which is saying a lot since we were really looking forward to eating it after the samples you gave us)! While we were eating it, we just kept thinking about what our next occasion might be that we may need a cake. :)

Thanks again for everything! Your work really made the party and we couldn't have been happier with your tasty treats. From your workmanship to your work ethic, you definitely deliver. I will be sure to recommend you to anyone I know looking for the best cake on the island.

Til our next cake encounter...
Marie

LIGHTING MCQUEEN AND MATER

ALOHA,
Its been awhile since we blogged but I lost my camera somewhere and all the pictures we have taken are gone. So I have been emailing all my clients and photographers to try and get some pictures of our cakes. We have made some awesome cakes recently and its sad that our camera is gone.
Cely was awesome to send these pictures over of Lighting McQueen and Mater from the Cars Movie. She asked we make both of these cakes for her Nephew, Tanner who turned 2 a few weeks ago. In her email she told me that Tanner was upset when they cut McQueen and told her she killed McQueen, How cute? Kids are funny like that.
I gave Nick this project while I worked on 250 decorated and wrapped cookies for a fundraiser, Denim and Diamonds. I think Nick did an outstanding job on these cakes. I could not have been prouder.
Happy Birthday Tanner! We look forward to making your 3rd birthday cakes!!
Thanks you Cely for these pictures.

Until tomorrow, we have received some more pictures so we will be posting more!
Have a great Tuesday

OUR STAR TREK CAKE GOT HONORABLE MENTION

ALOHA,
Its been a long time since I blogged. I am sorry to all of you who follow. We have been super busy and it seems like everyday gets busier and busier. Which is wonderful. I am so thankful. Thank you for keeping us going. We love making cakes!

We had honorable mention on Cakecentral.co. for our Star Trek we made not to long ago. Our friend Cely called to get a birthday cake for her new husband Trevor. You may remember them from the pirate wedding cake we made for them. Cely and Trevor have contacted us countless times for cakes since then. And this was one of them. Trevor loves Star Trek so how perfect we make him the U.S.S. Reliant. One thing Cely asked for was lights in the cake!! Oh yeah, we all know how I love to make a cake light up. This cake had 3 lights in it.

So this cake was entered in the Star Trek cake contest. There were some awesome cakes entered and for us to honorable mention means a lot to me. Thank you for all of you who voted for us.
Keep looking back we had some awesome cakes over the past 2 weeks that we will post this week. Along with some awesome events we will be attending and some great new going on overhere for us!

Mama Mia Wedding Fair was a success

ALOHA!

I wanted to thank everyone for supporting us this past Saturday for the Mama Mia Wedding Fair at Kahala Mall. Hawaii Bride and Groom asked us if we wanted to be a part of this event and we jumped at the chance. With our very busy weekend I noticed all of our events were in the evening and we would be able to attend since it was from 10 - 2. Friday night was a very long busy night. But we got everything finished. I was extremely happy with our display cakes and all of our samples.

We were asked to supply 100 samples but I knew that it was a mall, this was a big event so we made almost 700. I really thought that was going to be to much. Boy was I wrong. The announced that we were having samples starting at 11. We were out in 45 minutes. I was surprised. We supplied 4 of our most popular flavors, strawberry guava, pineapple coconut, chocolate Guinness, and green tea. Everyone loved them.

I also have always wanted to make an upside down cake so I did. And it was awesome. We always see a lot of Topsy Turvy cakes but never upside down. People took to it well and loved the idea.

Thank you again to all of you who came to stop by our table and support us. Thank you to Julie from Hawaii Bride and Groom for inviting us and Kahala mall for hosting the event. We look forward to working with you both again.
